I am tired of reading job descriptions.
“We are looking for a Marketing Ninja / Code Wizard / Design Guru / Coffee Connoisseur.”
In other words: “We are looking for a mythical creature because we don’t actually know what this role requires.”
At Tomorrow Labs, we don’t hire “Unicorns.” We don’t hire “Rockstars.” We hire adults who want to do the best work of their careers.
When I sit down across from a candidate – whether for a junior role or a senior strategist – I look for three things.
And the order Fu**ing matters.
This is the non-negotiable.
The digital landscape changes while we sleep. What worked on Meta last week might be broken today. If you come into my agency thinking you have completed your education, you are already obsolete.
If you’re not asking questions, you’re not growing.
I don’t expect my team to have every answer instantly. I expect them to have the relentless itch to find out. I hire the person who says, “I don’t know, but I’m going to figure it out” over the person who pretends to know it all.
Forget the “Unicorn” myth.
I don’t need a graphic designer who can also write Python code and manage the office accounts. That is how you get mediocrity at scale.
Be exceptional at the role you are hired to do.
If you are a copywriter, your words need to sell. If you are a media buyer, your ROAS needs to track. We operate in a high-performance environment; competence is the price of entry.
We can train skills, but we cannot train raw talent. You need to bring the goods.
This is where the ego dies.
I want to lead you now so you can lead others later.
Agency life is fast. It is pressurized. Sometimes, the work gets torn apart because it isn’t hitting the mark.
The difference between a good employee and a great one is how they react to that moment. Do they get defensive? or do they get better?
Coachability means you are secure enough in your ability to take feedback on the chin and use it to sharpen your output.
Great marketing isn’t just about the campaigns, the tech stack, or the budget.
It’s about people.
People who think, people who challenge the brief, and people who care enough to do the work properly when nobody is watching.
If you have curiosity, we can build competence. If you have competence, we can build a career. But if you don’t have coachability, we hit a ceiling.
We are building something real here. Only Hingo Unicorns allowed.
