Look at any piece of design you’ve created. Ask yourself: “What should the viewer do next?”
If you can’t answer immediately, your design is already failing.
Most design doesn’t fail because it’s ugly. It fails because it’s undecided.
Pretty layouts. Trendy fonts. Fancy effects.
None of it matters if it doesn’t guide the audience.
Good design has one job: Make the next step obvious.
Everything else is distraction.
It’s decoration. Decoration doesn’t work.
What do we want the audience to do next?
Not to look trendy. Not to “pop.” To work.
Because people decide fast. Undecided design is ignored.
Attention is expensive.
Clarity wins. Design that works directs, guides, and communicates. Design that decorates just adds to the noise.
Ask yourself: “Does this have a purpose? Does it move someone forward?”
If not, rethink it.
